After the success of coffee cubes at the Mishry HQ, Bevzilla’s Milkshake Cubes caught our attention. Available in multiple flavors, we chose to test the choco hazelnut variant.

Considering that these are made with jaggery, we checked for the sweetness levels and the impact of the caramely flavor of jaggery. In addition these also have a chocolate and hazelnut flavoring. How prominent is the flavor of chocolate and hazelnut?

Is the overall preparation process quick and hassle-free? Does it really help reduce time and effort in the kitchen? Does the packaging add to the convenience and travel friendliness.

Product Highlights
These instant milkshake cubes are packed in a blue and beige-brown color box. The price of a 100 gm pack is Rs. 349. It offers a shelf life of 9 months.
A 100-gram package contains ten cubes. Each cube is wrapped individually and placed into the box.
Main Ingredients
The main ingredients are : Date palm jaggery, Nature identical flavor and food color.
Review Process
We added a single milkshake cube to 200 ml milk in a glass. Later, we blended it for about 30 seconds.
Once done, we added ice before consumption.
NOTE: One cube is sufficient enough for 200-175 ml milk, if you prefer a milder flavor. However, if you like a more intense flavor, consider adding 1.5 cubes or reducing the amount of milk.
What does Team Mishry say?
First things first, we really appreciate the packaging. On first look, the packaging spells convenience. Especially when you are traveling with your little one and you need a quick flavored milk, these can come in handy.
Second point of highlight is the quick preparation process. You can prepare the milkshake with or without a blender. We highly recommend using a shaker though.
Pro Tip : Stirring it with a spoon often causes the jaggery to settle at the bottom. To avoid this, it is best to mix this using a shaker or a blender (if handy).
Taste-wise, it simply feels like having sweetened milk. In the background, you can taste a slight hint of chocolate. But the flavor of hazelnut is not as prominent as we would have liked it to be.
Nonetheless, it still tasted delicious.
But is this a value for money pick? Maybe not! Why, you ask?
A 100 gm pack costs Rs. 349 that holds 10 cubes. This means that a single cube costs Rs. 35/- approximately. Simply explained, it would be far more cost effective to make a fresh milkshake at home and sweeten it with jaggery. It does have a slight hint of chocolate flavor however it is still an added flavor/color.
Moreover, the added flavors does not make it an ideal choice for regular consumption. Also, neither the colorings nor the flavorings are derived from natural sources such as nuts or natural fruits. Details about the food color or flavorings have not been given either.

Convenience in a cube! The preparation and the taste in general are factors we liked. But our overall experience was a fairly average one. At 35 bucks a cube, we say just get some powdered jaggery and get mixing. Add unsweetened cocoa, bananas or fresh berries for that attractive color and flavor.
