Why Gits Ready Meals Rajma Masala Is Our Top Pick:

Related Products
*Based on Mishry's internal reviews and ratings

Gits Ready Meals Rajma Masala has a reddish gravy that looks fresh and homemade. The gravy is not oily at all, which is significant. By itself, the gravy tastes absolutely fresh. Does not reek or taste of preservatives. The gravy consists of enough beans and the ratio of gravy to rajma is perfect for 2 people. The beans are not broken, unlike a few other contenders in this review.

The rajma is perfectly cooked, in fact, it has that mild sweetness that Jammu rajma is famous for. The beans have a flavor of their own which gives Gits Ready Meals Rajma Masala a delicious and homely taste in every bite.

We also loved that Gits Ready Meals Rajma Masala does not contain preservatives, added artificial flavors and artificial colors.

Its all taste, and very convenient when you live away from your family and require a little bit of rajma masala to remind you of home!

Why We Also Recommend ITC Kitchens Of India Rajma Masala

We found ITC Kitchens Of India Rajma Masala nearly as good as our Top Pick. It has a delicious onion-tomato gravy that is spicier than Gits Ready Meals Rajma Masala, it is not oily and the rajma beans are cooked perfectly too. The only place where ITC Kitchens Of India Rajma Masala fell a little behind our Top Pick is in the taste and mild sweetness of the rajmas themselves. That apart, ITC Kitchens Of India Rajma Masala is very tasty, and we would recommend it to anyone who likes their food a little bit spicier.

Our Review Process

We picked these different brands of Rajma Masalas to find the tastiest amongst them all. Our process involved sourcing them from various online and offline stores. There is a sudden boom in the ready-to-eat market and hence it was our attempt to get as many brands as possible.

We picked brands that are commonly available throughout the country, both online and offline.

We heated all of them as per instructions on the pack, and all brands we tasted as soon as possible, not allowing any brand of rajma masala to sit for long, post-heating. All brands were tasted side by side, on the same day.

We used boiled rice (Daawat’s Rozaana) as an accompaniment for all plates of rajma.

Who Is This For?

Ready to eat meals are best suited to people who are traveling out of India and prefer home-cooked meals or college students and bachelors who live alone and are dependent on quick meals. These could also cater to those who have a busy schedule and want a simple but filling delicacy.

But not all ready to eat meals are tasty and healthy. In our reviews, we always look for a balance between the two. While taste plays a significant role, we also look closely at the ingredients and nutrition profile of a product before making a recommendation.

Tasting Process

The review was simply based on the taste. Kidney beans/rajma have a flavor of their own, which gives the tomato-onion gravy its signature taste. The spices are only an add-on to spice up the curry. We based our test on how well these brands are able to maintain that flavor.

Result Of Our Review Process

Rajma Masala gravy of most of these brands just tasted of spices and garam masala, that could be used in preparing any other dish. However, Gits Ready Meals Rajma Masala and ITC Kitchens Of India Rajma Masala not only tasted the best but also offered a homely touch.
