Our Review Factors

During our Peepal Vegan Coconut Energy Bar review, taste and texture were gauged. We also scanned the ingredients and overall nutritional quotient.

1. Taste

This is an all-natural, sugar-free bar. Our review focuses on the taste of nuts and seeds added, how fresh they are, the flavor of coconut, and the source of sweetener used. What about the other fat-dominant ingredients-almond, cashews, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds? We are focusing on these ingredients more as when fat turns stale, it develops a bitter taste, diminishing the overall flavor

2. Texture

We answered questions like:

  • Was the energy bar soft and chewy or crumbly and dry ?
  • Did nuts add a crunch, or were they ground completely?
  • If crunchy, was it a soft crunch or a bold one?
  • Did the bar release natural nut oils?
  • Was it too greasy to touch and eat?

3. Nutritional Quotient

Nutrition: Is there a decent caloric distribution among the three macronutrients? Does this suffice as a meal or a snack, in terms of calories?

Peepal Vegan Coconut Energy Bar – Detailed Review

Price + Packaging

These energy bars have a clean, simple packaging. They are wrapped in a brown sleeve. The nutri-label is detailed.

A 50-gram pack is priced at Rs 90/-. It does not mention a shelf life, only the dates of manufacturing and packaging are printed.

Nutritional Quotient

The main ingredients are peanuts, oats, amaranth, dates, coconut, cashews, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds.

As noticed, premium quality natural ingredients are used. There are no additives or preservatives or refined sugar added, thumbs up.

One 50-gram bar offers 306 Kcal, divided as 9 grams of protein, 13.7 grams of carbohydrates, and a whopping 23.9 grams of fat.

A snack providing 150-200 Kcal is considered ideal, but it varies on an individual’s needs. The fat content in these vegan energy bars is quite high, and a better fat-protein ratio would be preferred.

Aroma + Appearance

The energy bar had a beige hue with a thickness of half an inch. It was sized decently. At the top, we could see coconut flakes with sparse bits of seeds.

The fact that it had a natural, mildly sweet and nutty aroma gave us the sense that it would taste fresh too.

Taste + Texture

Not overly greasy, but the bar felt slightly oily on the fingertips. This was not an issue as the key ingredients are peanuts and coconut which are heavy on fats. The dates and nut oils (naturally occurring) held this energy bar well, it wasn’t broken or crumbly. While nuts and seeds added a desirable crunch, the oats and amaranth added a softer bite and bulk to the bar.

Mild on sweetness but dominant on the nutty flavor of peanuts, tropical flavor of coconuts, this made for a satiating, filling snack. Yes, dates do add some sweetness but it was on the lower side.
