Tasty, crunchy, chocolatey! Kellogg’s Crunchy Granola Almonds & Chocolate is delicious. This is definitely not an everyday breakfast but would make for a quick and delish lazy morning breakfast bowl.
A filling start to the day or the answer to those midnight cravings, granola with milk is a heavenly combination! Granola is essentially a blend of cereals that contains seeds, nuts, and dried fruits for added textures and fiber.
Kellogg’s has led in the breakfast cereals aisle for decades. From an eclectic thandai cornflakes to K-energy bars, Kellogg’s has also launched a new range of granola variants. Earlier we reviewed the Almonds and Cranberries variant and loved it for the textural variation it offers. This granola variant by Kellogg’s is made using five grains, namely oats, wheat (whole and refined), corn crispies, and rice. Flavored with chocolate, here’s more on the taste, texture, and how we tasted it.
Though granola and muesli are used interchangeably, the key difference between these breakfast foods is that granola is sweetened and baked, whereas muesli is relished raw. This is why when we saw several bite-sized clusters in the pack, we weren’t surprised. In addition to these clusters, we noticed a decent amount of fine almond slivers and crispies, all coated in milk chocolate powder.
As mentioned above, we tasted this granola straight out of the pack and with a bowl of milk. Another suggestion by the brand is consuming this granola with yogurt.
Stage One- The grains taste fresh and have a nice crunch. Taste-wise, the slivered almonds taste fresh too. In terms of texture, almonds do not render that bold ‘bite’ because they are slivered finely. The sweetness is subtle. In addition to the crunchy clusters, there were also some crisp chocolate-coated balls in the mix.
Stage Two- Following the serving suggestions, we added 40-grams of granola to 200 ml of cow’s milk. In less than a minute’s time, the milk had a visually appealing subtle brown shade. Since the almonds did not have a prominent bite in the raw stage too, when mixed in milk, the almond slivers turned even softer. The level of sweetness and chocolate flavor were well retained in this test too. The clusters and other grains had their crunch intact. The sweetness of the granola and the natural sweetness of milk, together make this a delicious bowl.
