Summary

The Lipton After Lunch Green Tea has a beautifully delicate tulsi flavor and aroma. The use of digestive ingredients like rock salt, ginger, and asafoetida help in the digestion process and boost metabolism. The only thing that brought down our overall experience was the use of a staple pin on the teabag.

Green tea and black tea are leaves from the same plant. However, what makes green tea different from black tea is the maturity of the tea leaves. Green tea is made by boiling unprocessed and unfermented tea leaves in water. If you don’t have access to fresh tea leaves or are on-the-go or at work where boiling tea leaves is not feasible, here is a refreshing solution for you! One of the first brands we think of when someone mentions green tea is Lipton green tea bags. From the authentic Darjeeling tea to Japanese matcha, and a wide range of flavored green teas, Lipton has now come up with its After Lunch Green Tea.

We grabbed a pack of Lipton After Lunch Green Tea and reviewed it to see if it can help post a heavy afternoon meal. How was the aroma and flavor? Is the green tea sweetened? What about the quality of tea leaves? This quick review of Lipton After Lunch Green Tea tells you all you need to know.

Quick Review Of Lipton After Lunch Green Tea

Price and packaging – The Lipton Green Tea Bags come in a 90-gram box, containing 25 tea bags. A pack of 25 teabags is priced at Rs 170/-. Content in each tea bag weighs 1.4 grams. Each tea bag is wrapped individually.

How we tried it – For this Lipton Green Tea Bags review, we brewed the green tea as per instructions on the pack. We kept the Lipton After Lunch Green Tea bag in a cup of freshly boiled water. We let the bag sit for 8-9 minutes and consumed it. No sweetener or milk was added to the green tea.

Taste Test – The delicate tulsi aroma is unmissable as soon as we add water into the cup with the Lipton green tea bag. Even though the pack mentions the use of many Indian spices, the only robust flavor we could taste was that of tulsi and rock salt. The ginger flavor doesn’t come through as boldly. Spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and black pepper play supporting roles in balancing the flavor and blend of the green tea.

What didn’t work for us – This herbal fusion has a pleasant aroma and taste. It did not feel too heavy. However, staple pins on tea bags are a big no-no. FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) banned the use of staple pins on tea bags in 2019 as they can be a health and safety hazard. As tea bags tend to expand once added to water, the pin can become loose and even fall off the teabag. We were careful while sipping on this cup of green tea.

Lipton After Lunch Green Tea contains a blend of spices that help aid digestion like ginger, asafoetida, and rock salt. The mild, fresh-tasting green tea is great for a soothing post-lunch beverage. The reason they say ‘after lunch’ is because caffeine is not consumed close to bedtime. So if your meal was too heavy, and you are feeling lazy and sluggish, the Lipton Green Teabag gives you a mid-day boost of refreshment. Not only that, but this can also be a good way to increase your water and antioxidant intake. The presence of a staple pin on the tea bag completely wrecked our overall experience.
