ITC Masterchef Frozen Paneer Pakoda comes in a green and black color outer pack. Inside, all the pakodas are securely sealed and neatly arranged within a box.
The cost of a 275 gm pack is Rs. 250, with a shelf life extending up to 9 months. Though the pack says there are 13 pieces, our review pack included around 15 pieces.
Main Ingredients
The ingredients are : Paneer (56.4%), Water, Besan batter [14.4% – Besan, Dehydrated yellow chilli, Iodised salt, Starch, Mixed spices^, Raising agent (INS500(ii)) and wheat fibre], Refined palm oil, Pre-dust batter [Refined wheat flour(maida), Starch, Iodised salt and stabiliser (INS466)].
How did we make this?
There are three methods of preparation for these paneer pakodas which include – deep-frying, shallow frying and air-frying.
We opted for the deep-frying method. These pakodas achieve a delightful crispness in a short span.
Our Experience
Appearance
The pakodas are square-shaped, and have well-defined edges. These have a medium thickness and the brand did not skimp on the quantity of paneer. The outer coating is thin.
Taste
Turning our attention to the taste, the paneer is delicately seasoned, carrying delightful hints of ajwain and zeera. It presents a supremely fresh taste with absolutely no trace of sourness.
The mild seasoning makes it an ideal pairing with some mint chutney, ketchup, or saunth chutney.
Texture
In terms of texture, this frozen snack offers a delightful experience with every bite. In each bite we got a large chunk of soft, tender paneer. We love that it’s not dry, chewy and hard which can be the case in most frozen products.
The outer layer is thin and crispy and lightly seasoned.
Overall, a very homestyle paneer pakoda!

It’s definitely value for money! With a 275 gm pack containing 15 pieces, the approximate cost per piece is Rs. 16. When we compare it to the cost of paneer these days in most metros or with halwai-made pakodas, the price per piece falls within the range of Rs. 15 to 40 depending on the location.
