What were we looking for? We were looking for a crunchy bag of popcorn with flavors of tangy tomato and chilli.
We reviewed Act II Instant Tomato Chilli on different parameters, including the packaging, main ingredients, aroma, crunch, and flavor.
1. Crunch
A stale and soggy-tasting popcorn is a complete no-no. The crunch and the crispness are core factors to judge any packaged popcorn. Are these popcorn crisp? Is there a bold crunch felt in every bite?
2. Flavor
The saltiness, spice levels, and the level of the seasoning are the factors we examine here. Is the tomato tang present? Is it mild or intense? How spicy is the seasoning? Is there a perfect balance between flavors?

Are all the kernels popped up well? What is the size of the popped kernel? Small or large?
4. Aroma
The aroma of freshly popped popcorn is highly addictive. How pleasing and inviting is the aroma?

Packed in a colorful plastic pack, Act II Instant Tomato Chilli is a microwavable popcorn. A separate microwave-safe paper bag inside contains the corn kernels. The tomato chili seasoning comes in a separate silver color foil pack.

Dehydrated Vegetables (Tomato Powder, Onion Powder and Garlic Powder), Chilli Powder, Iodized salt, Sugar, Yeast extract powder, Stabilizer (Hydrolized Veg protein), Maltodextrin, Acidity regulator (Citric acid) and Anticaking agent (silicon dioxide).
Contains added flavor (Nature identical substances).

Act II Instant Tomato Chilli Popcorn – Detailed Review
Method Of Preparation
We prepared the popcorn following the same procedure as mentioned on the pack. The microwave-safe bag had oil on the outside when we opened the pack. We microwaved the popcorn for about 3 minutes. After 3 minutes, the bag had become too hot. So we were extra cautious while handling it.
The seasoning is required to be mixed while the popcorn is hot. The aroma of the tomato chili seasoning is quite tangy. We mixed in the seasoning inside the pack and what next. All we did was SHAKE, SHAKE, and SHAKE! While mixing, we observed that the seasoning does not coat all the popcorn kernels evenly.
Our Experience
Texture: In terms of texture, these popcorns are crispy and crunchy. None of them felt soggy. Thumbs up! All of the corn kernels had popped up well.
Taste : Taste-wise, Act II Tomato Chilli popcorn fails to make a mark. We expected a balance of tanginess and spiciness from this variant. The spiciness is low and mild and the tomato tang is much stronger. The seasoning doesn’t coat all the popcorn evenly which lowers the overall experience as some bits are over-dusted while some taste bland.
Do note that the seasoning is required to be mixed while the popcorn is still hot. Hence you need to be extra careful while cutting through the hot pack.
