Haldiram's Dahi Kebabs are tasty, no doubt. However, the lack of melt-in-the-mouth feel, and firm texture were factors that diminished the overall rating. We would have liked them more if the seasoning was milder.

Dahi kebabs are an exciting frozen snack combining the freshness of the curd, melt-in-mouth filling, and crisp exterior.

We got our hands on Haldiram’s Frozen Dahi Kebab that are available online and in stores as well. Made with hung curd and Indian cottage cheese, let’s test how appetizing and fresh these kebabs taste.

Our Haldiram’s Dahi Kebabs review dissects the pros, cons, cooking methods, and our overall experience.

Our Review Factors

What are we looking for? We want a dahi kebab with a soft, creamy center that crisps well on the outside.

Haldiram’s Minute Khana Dahi Kebab was reviewed on the following parameters:

1. Taste

If you haven’t tried a dahi kebab, let us take you through its flavor profile. Dahi kebabs showcase a medley of different flavors characterized by a mild touch of cardamom, followed by the freshness of green chillies and ginger, and finally the creamy sourness of the dahi.

These kebabs have dairy products including yogurt and Indian cottage cheese. How fresh do these elements taste? Are these seasoned well?

2. Texture

When we talk about the texture of these kebabs, we expect a creamy and soft center with a crisp exterior. Dahi kebabs in general are quite fragile and tend to break apart easily. How was our experience with Haldiram’s Dahi Kebabs? Are these delicate to handle?

3. Additional Parameters

  • Ingredients: Although not a deciding factor, a clean ingredient list helps us rank the product better.
  • Other essential details on the price, packaging and shelf life were recorded here.

Aroma + Appearance

These are medium-sized kebabs and no broken pieces were found in the pack.  Thumbs up!

The kebabs hold their shape very well and do not break apart easily.

The aroma was mild curd-like complemented by a subtle addition of cardamom.

Taste + Texture

How should a dahi kebab taste? A typical dahi kebab flavor is supposed to be mildly seasoned. An amalgamation of subtle cardamom, a hint of chilli’s freshness, and the creaminess of the dahi.

Talking about the taste, Haldiram’s dahi kebab has a prominent flavor of red chilli. We would have liked it if the heat had come from some freshly chopped green chillies instead. We quite liked the presence of mild cardamom and pepper flavor. Nonetheless, we enjoyed them and found them to be quite tasty despite some minor misses.

Coming to the texture! Dahi kebabs are soft and creamy from the center and have a delicate texture. Haldiram’s Dahi Kebab were quite sturdy and firm and lacked the desired melt-in-mouth feel.

These would have received a higher rating if only the kebabs were softer, delicate, and seasoned mildly.
