Our Review Factors

Taste, texture, and the nutrition quotient were the significant parameters in our Foodstrong Pancake Mix review.

In-depth details are explained in the following section.

1. Taste

The freshness and sweetness were gauged under this parameter. Were chocolate/vanilla and banana balanced? Or did one ingredient overpower the other? Any unnatural or rancid aftertaste? As this has no refined flour – how different is the taste of the pancakes?

2. Texture

Soft, airy, and chewy or dense, thin, and crusty- what was the texture of these refined flour-free pancakes like?

Do they soak up liquid toppings (maple syrup, honey)? Is the fluffiness retained after they cool down?

3. Nutrition Quotient

Toppings excluded, how many calories does one serving of these pancakes offer? How are they apportioned among the three macronutrients?

What about the quality of ingredients? What sweetener has been used, what are the key carbohydrate sources?

4. Other Parameters

Price, packaging, convenience, and the shelf life were taken into account here.

Foodstrong Pancake Mix Flavors – Detailed Review

Our experience with both variants of Foodstrong Pancake Mix flavors has been decoded here.

1. Vanilla Banana

Our Experience

Such appetizing flavors! The Vanilla Banana variant showcased a really good flavor profile with the fruity taste of bananas and the caramel-like sweetness of jaggery. That said, the sweetness was not over done, and one still has room to add syrups/jams to enhance the sweetness. The texture was impressive, considering this is a refined flour-free pancake mix. The premix turned into a batter pretty easily, there were no lumps and not a lot of mixing was needed. Once cooked, the pancakes rose fairly well and were soft and fluffy.

They developed a nice golden brown surface and had a heavenly aroma.

Whether its incorporating millets to your diet or having a breakfast full of complex carbohydrates, Food Strong Pancake Mix in Vanilla Banana is recommended.

2. Chocolate Banana

Our Experience

The texture of the Chocolate Banana pancakes was slightly drier than the banana variant. Other than that the pancakes were airy and fluffy. The flavor, however, was not as impressive.

It was very heavy on cocoa which made it slightly bitter. We could taste the earthiness of millets, the caramel flavor of jaggery, the characteristic flavor of bananas. Although fresh, these flavors were not working together.

The powder had fresh and natural aromas.
