How Does A Canned Golden Latte Taste? Let’s Find Out!

A chilly winter night or a chronic cough, nothing beats a warm cup of good ol’ Haldi doodh. Not only does this soothing beverage calm the throat, but it also helps build immunity. No wonder our mums made this magical potion our nighttime drink. (Is your mum an expert on all things food and flavor? Then she should be a part of our community and become a Mishry Mum!)

When we think of Haldi doodh, which is now popularly known as Golden Latte, our minds think of a warm, beautifully yellow, mildly sweet boost of serotonin in a cup.

We picked the most popular dairy brands in India, Amul, and Mother Dairy, for a fair review. Based on Team Mishry’s taste test, Amul was our Top Pick.  While the winner tasted closest to the home-made Haldi doodh, Mother Dairy tasted a bit more like butterscotch-flavored milk.

TOP PICK

The Amul Haldi Doodh is as close as it can get to a glass of homemade haldi doodh.

Does Amul Haldi Doodh have the homestyle taste?

Right as we opened the can, a strong aroma of Haldi hit us. We poured the contents of the brands into glasses for multiple taste tests. Visually, Amul Haldi Doodh had a light yellow color. We noticed the milk was neither too thin nor too thick. Safe to say, Amul nailed the consistency also. When we tasted the Haldi doodh, we liked the balanced sweetness levels. Additionally, the ingredients used by Amul were way better than the contender.

Why is Amul Haldi Doodh our winner?

The ingredients used, the aroma, the consistency and texture, and the promise of a close-to-home Haldi doodh were our parameters for deciding on the tastiest packaged Haldi doodh.

Voila! We conclude our tastiest Haldi doodh review by awarding Amul as the winner. Taste, vibrancy, ingredients, or the creaminess of milk, Amul did a great job in delivering what it promised. A 125 ml can is priced at Rs 25.
